SO8932 BARTON STREET 859-1/6/28 (North side) 04/03/52 No.31

House in row, with shop. Early C19. Flemish bond brickwork, tile roof, brick stack. A tall, narrow-frontage property to parapet. 3 storeys, 1-windowed. Large 16-pane sashes under splayed brick voussoirs with central fluted keystone with cornice, and stone cills. Late C19 full-width shop front in pilasters and with plain fascia; central part-glazed door. Brick string above first-floor window, stone coping to parapet. The back has 2 narrow hipped ends, with paired 15-pane sashes to central mullion at first and second floors, and canted brick voussoirs to first floor. In Davis Alley, to the left, is an C18 four-panel fielded door. INTERIOR not inspected. The scale and form of this property suggests a complete early C19 rebuilding on the narrow medieval plot.
