Former gate pier, now pier. Early/mid-C18. Limestone ashlar with vermiculated rustication. Pier is approximately 3m high with moulded stone plinth, alternate bands of ashlar and vermiculated rustication, moulded stone cornice, two tier cap with ball finial with band of vermiculated rustication. Pier has recessed corners. This pier to north of Broad Ride and matching pier to south of Broad Ride at NGR SP 0061 0232 (qv) may originally have carried gates between the Deer Park and Lodge Park and been moved to their present position when the Broad Ride was extended eastwards to Cecily Hill after 1779.
