Stable range and cottage. Late C18, extended in C19. Red brick in Flemish bond, roofed mainly with handmade red clay tiles, some red clay pantiles. Main range facing SSW, comprising coach house and stables, with loft over. Coachman's cottage forms wing to rear of right end, facing ESE, with stack in rear wall. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. The main elevation of the main building (facing Jericho Priory (qv)) has on the ground floor 3 casements with semicircular brick arches and marginal lights, and one blocked similar aperture; one casement at half-height near right end, with segmental brick arch; double doors in middle for coach, one wide halved door to left, one wide plain door to right, each to a set of loose boxes; plain loading door on first floor, all with segmental brick arches; arch rebuilt over left door, repointed with cement mortar over right door. Mounting block against wall near right end, comprising 2 stone steps on brick. The brickwork of this elevation and the left gable end (towards Church Street) has many blue headers, forming a regular pattern. Dentilled brick cornice across each gable. The left end has double plain loading doors on the first floor, and C19 moulded bargeboards. The cottage has in the E elevation one sash of 6:6 lights with segmental brick arch, and on the first floor one C19 casement. The cottage is roofed with machine-made red clay tiles. The rear elevation of the main range has on the ground floor 2 windows similar to those at the front. Several cast-iron vents. INTERIOR: in the left (W) end is a set of 4 mid-C19 loose boxes complete with vertically boarded walls and partitions, sliding doors suspended from rollers, iron grills, acorn finials on the posts, and cast-iron corner hayracks; blue stable bricks on floor. The right end was similar, but all the fittings have been stripped out except the vertical boarding on the walls, and the blue stable bricks. The loft over is undivided, with straight tie-beams, raking struts and side-purlin roof; 3 mid-C19 scrolled cast-iron brackets below the tie-beams.
