Farmhouse and barns. Dated 1781 with initials J. (&) L.N. over entrance, early C19 extension. Painted ashlar walls on chamfered plinth with raised V-jointed quoins, shaped cornice; graduated green slate roof with coped gables and kneelers, ashlar chimney stacks. 2 storeys, 3 bays, with 2-bay extension under common roof to right; lean-to single-bay extension to left. 4-panel door in moulded architrave with pulvinated frieze and triangular moulded pediment. Flanking double 2-pane sash windows, 2-pane sash windows above, all in raised painted stone surrounds. Blocked doorway in extension right, 2-pane sash windows in plain painted stone surrounds. Similar details in windows in extension left. Rear has large staircase window in round arch with intersecting glazing bars. Interior has panelled doors throughout. C18 staircase with carved tread ends and ramped handrail. Listing includes outbuildings adjoining to rear in L-shape. 2 storeys, numerous bays. Whitewashed rubble walls, Welsh slate and green slate roof. Projecting cart entrance with sliding plank doors; C20 garage doors in entrance to left. Smaller plank doors to right with slit vents above. Was in use as a shooting box by Sir James Graham of Netherby in 1849 (Carlisle Journal 16/11/1849).
