10/107 Low Grains II
Byre and barn, formerly farmhouse and barn. Late C17 or early C18 with alterations dated 1754 over entrance; extension to barn has reused lintel with initials J. & A.M. and the date 1815 added. Calciferous sandstone coursed rubble, Welsh slate roof, corrugated iron on barn. Single-storey house of 4 bays, 2-storey barn adjoining in L-shape. Plank door in flush quoined surround with dated lintel. Flanking small blocked original windows. Chamfered 2-light mullioned windows to left have had mullions removed. Barn to right has large cart entrance with plank doors and slit vents. Right angle extension has blocked ground floor entrance, slit vents above. Further C19 extension to barn right has dated and inscribed lintel which has probably come from the farmhouse.
