Town house. c1798. For John Webb, merchant. Granite ashlar basement, local freestone ashlar above with asbestos slate roof behind parapet and brick end stack on the right, rendered stack on the left. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys over basement; asymmetrical 2-window-range front. Doorway on left has 6-panel door with plain overlight, panelled reveals within moulded architrave and probably original 12-pane hornless sashes under shallow segmental arches with key blocks; moulded cornice to parapet. INTERIOR: has much of its original carpentry, joinery and plasterwork with moulded and carved ceiling cornices and bands. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: granite steps bridge forecourt with original wrought-iron railings with newel finials; further steps down to basement.
