GV II
House at end of row. Late C17 or early C18. Portland ashlar, asbestos- cement slate roof. Wide symmetrical frontage, 2 storeys and attic, 2-windowed. Two small raking dormers with 2-light casements above 3-light stone chamfer-mullion casements to flush plat surrounds. Central C20 door under slated stone gabled porch. Slightly raised verges, gable stacks, to left, cropped to ridge level, to right with capping. Back has 2 large C20 dormers but also small 2-light casement in flush surround and small single light to first floor; flat-roofed extension full width. Interior not inspected, but said to retain plank and muntin partitions. Subsidiary features: at front, to left, a boundary wall in large square block and c 1.6m high, no coping, runs along the party boundary to join lower (c 1m) front boundary wall with central plain square stone piers to gateway. Interior said (RCHM) to retain plank and muntin partitions. The end property to the best remaining group in Underhill. (Royal Commission on Historical Monuments: Dorset: London: 1970-: 255).
