Terrace of 6 houses. 1858-9. Builder: William Holtom. Brick with buff headers and stucco dressings; slate roof with brick stop-chamfered end stacks and 2 cross-axial stacks. Georgian style. 2 storeys; symmetrical 6-window range of 3 pairs of houses. Top brick cornice. 3 pairs of entrances have doorcases with pilasters and bracketed cornices, overlights to 4-flush-panel doors, but Nos 4 & 7 have C20 glazed doors; segmental-headed entries with plank doors flank central pair of houses. Windows have sills, and rusticated wedge lintels with keys over 12-pane sashes, 16-pane sashes to 1st floor, but Nos 2 & 3 have 16-pane sashes to all windows. Part of the early C19 development of the south part of Stratford. (Information from Shakespeare Birthplace Trust Record Office).
