Wall with piers. c1890, partially restored and renewed late
C20. Red brick piers with yellow moulded brick balustrading,
renewed as solid wall with rustication, piers now rendered
except for those fronting No.1. Plan: length of wall fronting
Nos 1-4 King's Gardens (qv), piers mark access to buildings
(no gates), wall renewed and returned along west side of Grand
Avenue around former garden to No.1, now a carpark. Square
piers with moulded caps carrying swan neck ball finials,
missing from No.1; moulded plinths and coping to balustrade,
arched openings with keystones and lozenge panels as capitals,
rusticated piers, dado of square panels with diamond in
relief.
