2. 17th or late 16th century with alterations. 2 storeys. Timber framed. Steep roof, pantiled. Overhanging 1st floor, both storeys plastered, lined and painted. 4 windows, casement in flush frames. 3 doors and small shop window. Adjoining is the return face of No 2 Northgate (qv).

All 4 sides of the Old Market contribute in varying degrees to its general character. The Old Market is in an important position near the centre of the town. Nos 9 to 17 (odd) form a group with No 2 Northgate.
