Pair of cottages. Late C17/early C18. Coursed limestone
rubble; traces of old limewash to left (No.175). Welsh slate
roof; brick right-end stack probably shared with No.185
Gloucester Street (qv), one large stone stack (No.177) and one
concrete blockwork stack (No.175) on gablets to rear. 2
storeys and attic; 2-window range. Two 3-light leaded windows
(to left only centre light leaded) with exposed timber lintels
to first floor; ground floor has one 3-light C20 window to
left with exposed timber lintel; C20 bay window under C20
stone-slated hood which continues over door to right (No.177).
Two gabled dormers with C20 two-light casements. Plank door,
probably C18, to left gives access to through passage;
entrance to No.175 is off passage to left. No.177 has C20
plank door in front elevation. Stone plinth; quoins to first
floor right angle. INTERIOR of No.175 only inspected; C20
staircase and C20 alterations throughout including rear
extension. First floor front has roughly chamfered beam with
run-out stop; ground floor front has chamfered beam with step
stop.
