GV II
Bank barn, covered gateway and cartshed enclosing the N and E sides of the courtyard in front of the farmhouse. Barn probably late C18 or early C19. Cartshed possibly C18. Covered gateway probably added in C19. Stone rubble. Gateway slated; rest covered in corrugated iron. L-shaped bank barn occupies N end of yard; probably shippons and root-house below. Gateway adjoins it on S. Cartshed to S of that in turn. Bank barn has round-arched doorways with well-cut voussoirs: 8 below, 2 above in N arm of barn and 1 in E arm. Long flight of granite steps to left doorway of N arm. 2 wide doorways with old plank doors in N wall, opposing the narrower doors on S. Gateway has chamfered and stopped wood frame; pitched roof. Lofted cartshed (which may have housed animals at N end) somewhat altered. Cart entrance has iron girder for lintel. Plain wood-mullioned window in W wall. Interior: shippon under E arm of barn has wooden feeding trough and hayrack. Root-house (under NW corner of barn) has loading hatch with sloping sill.
