II
House, now hotel. c1830s. Stuccoed walls; parapeted slate roof
with rnedered stacks. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys; 2-window
garden front with glazing bars to tripartite sashes and French
window to ground-floor right. Moulded cornice beneath parapet.
Sashes to other elevations; entrance to right return. INTERIOR
not inspected but said to retain original joinery and other
features. Disraeli corresponded with and frequently visited
the first owner of this house, Mrs Sarah Brydges Williams
(d.1863). Mrs Williams made Disraeli her heir, and is buried
with him and his wife at Hughenden (Bucks).
