Gates, gate piers, and railings to grammar school, now tertiary college. c1925. Brick piers with painted concrete dressings; wrought-iron gates and railings. 4 square piers form vehicle and pedestrian entrances at centre of building: 2 central piers have plinths, top bands high corniced stepped coping; a corniced beam links bands with corniced coping of slightly lower outer square piers, also with plinths. Central double and side single gates of square-section iron have spiral finials to principals, central diagonal bracing framed by double bars in upper sections, central double bars on lower, with circles at intervals along top, central and bottom horizontal bands. Spike-headed railings have panels of similar pattern at intervals and are set in panels on low segmental-headed wall.
