GV II

House, now offices. Mid C17, with alterations and additions early C19, 1870 and mid C20. Coursed squared stone with rendered front, ashlar dressings and slate roof with coped gables and 2 rendered gable stacks with cornices. Stone plinth and chamfered eaves. 2 storeys plus attics; 7-window range, arranged 2:3:2. Central bay has a small glazing bar sash, partly reglazed, flanked by single 12-pane sashes. Beyond, on either side, 2 similar sashes. Above, 3 large through-eaves dormers with coped gables, each with a stone mullioned 3-light casement and label mould. Central mid C20 panelled double door and overlight, flanked in the outer bays by two 12-pane sashes, that to the right partly reglazed. At the rear, C19 rendered additions, single-storey and 2-storey. INTERIOR: entrance hall with dentillated cornice and span beam, and mid C19 Gothic-style fireplace. 2 moulded 6-panel doors. Stone cantilever staircase with decorative cast-iron balustrade and ramped scrolled handrail. (Buildings of England: Pevsner N & Williamson E: Nottinghamshire: Harmondsworth: 1979-: 173).
