House and attached cottage. Early C19 with earlier remains. Main house stuccoed with slate roof. A symmetrical composition of 2 storeys and 3 bays. Windows are glazing bar sashes in painted stone surrounds. Jambs of ground-floor windows are stop-chamfered. Tuscan porch has pilaster responds, cornice, and blocking course. Gable chimneys. At the rear (east) is a wing at right-angles. Adjoining its rear gable wall is No 4A, which is roughcast and of 2 storeys under a lower slate roof. It is of one bay facing north with a doorway to the right. The windows are mullioned, of 2 lights with rebated and chamfered surrounds of late C17 type. The 1st floor window has a surround with a shallow cyma moulding of early C18 type. Chimney on gable. To the south is a parallel C19 stuccoed wing. Interior: to the rear of the entrance hall of the main house is a stair hall which has an oak open-string dog-leg stair with turned newels, ramped handrail, and stop-chamfered stick balusters.
