GV II
Walls around churchyard. Limestone rubble with some Ham Hil stone coping. C19. The walls are in 4 sections: east, north-west, south-west and south. To the east, the 100m of wall is high, with substantial coping; and it sweeps down to the right, into Church Street, and for approx 40m, steps down to the left; this section has good quoins and gate piers at the entrances to gardens. Attached to the Church Hall (qv) on the north side, the wall curves at the north-west corner to steps opposite the west door of the church, where there is a cast-iron bollard; this section has concrete capping. To the west, and south-west corner, the wall is of coursed Ham Hill stone blocks, with vertical slabs on the top to the west, and coping to the south-west. The south side is of soft, worn limestone rubble of varying heights.
