Shown on OS as No.48. Attached house, now shop and office. 1763. By Thomas Paty, mid C19 shop front. Render with limestone ashlar, roof not visible. Single-depth plan. Mid Georgian style. 3 storeys; 3-window range. A curved corner site with 2-storey C19 shop front in 3 sections divided by panelled mullions, a black basalt stall riser, left-hand doorway, consoles to the fascia, and plate-glass first-floor display windows with cornice and segmental-arched centre. 5 stepped voussoirs to first-floor 6/6-pane sashes, 3/6-panes to the middle and second-floor casements. INTERIOR not inspected. Part of Paty's extensive improvements to the centre, and part of a terrace with Nos 47 & 48 (qv).
