GV II
House, now shop and studio. Early C18. Brick; tile roof with brick end stacks. Georgian style. L-plan. 2 storeys with attic; 4-window range. Top wooden modillioned cornice. c1900 shop front with Art Nouveau details to pilasters, fascia with end brackets and scrolled cast-iron cresting; recessed entrance with C20 door; round-headed entry to left end has rubbed brick arch and keystone over 4-panel door. 1st floor has windows with rubbed brick segmental arches over 8-pane sashes with thick glazing bars; attic has 2 gabled dormers. Rear has gabled wing with large lateral stack. Interior: open-well staircase has open string with moulded tread ends, panelled square newels, column-on-vase balusters and moulded handrail; 2-fielded-panel doors, one with H-L hinges; 1st floor niche over fielded-panelled cupboard doors, with architrave, keystone and deep cornice, shaped shelf edges. A good example of an early Georgian town house.
