Two shops and office. c1810. Brick with ashlar dressing; tile
roof. L-plan. Georgian style. 3 storeys; 4-window range. Boxed
eaves; ashlar quoins over chamfered ashlar angle to right end.
Late C19 shop front to No.1, with panelled pilasters, rich
brackets to fascia and C20 entrance and glazing; No.10 has
late C20 shop front. Upper windows have sills, and rubbed
brick flat arches, over plate glass horned sashes to 1st
floor, 6-pane horned sashes to 2nd floor; roof has 2 hipped
skylights. 2 axial stacks. Right return 4-window range has
modillioned brick cornice to right of rebuilt gable; entrance
with architrave and bracketed cornice, overlight with
decorative glazing bars to 6-fielded-panel door, between C20
shop fronts; blocked 1st floor window to left end. No.1
originally had bust of Dr Johnson, now removed (1990).
