House, now flats. c1830, altered. Red brick in Flemish bond (now with buttered pointing), sandstone dressings and slate roof. Double-depth plan with rear wing. Three storeys over cellars, 3 bays, symmetrical; plain frieze and moulded cornice; central doorway which has a doorcase of engaged Tuscan columns with square abaci, plain frieze and moulded cornice, a 6-panel door and overlight with margin panes, a 4-pane sashed window above the door with a cornice on consoles, flanked by added 2-storey canted bays of sandstone ashlar with 4-pane sashed glazing; 3 shorter 4-pane sashes at 2nd floor with segmental lintels. Roof hipped at left end with large chimney stack on this slope and another at the right-hand gable. Left return wall (to Avenham Lane), 3 bays, has blind windows to the first bay, a doorway to the 3rd bay, and 4-pane sashed windows; an added 2-storey 3-bay wing continued to the rear; and the cellar area on this side protected by cast-iron railings with fleur-de-lys heads. INTERIOR: staircase with stick balusters; moulded plaster cornices with bobbin-and-reel and egg-and-dart decoration, and stiff-leaf modillions; blocked well in cellar; rear wing said to contain former ballroom.
