II

School house now house. Built c1846 by Mr John Woodnall. Isle of Wight coursed rubble with red brick dressings and slate roof. Cruciform shape. 1 storey and attics, 3 windows. Centre projecting gable with stone coping, kneelers and iron weathervan with clock below. Attic has 1 cambered 2 light casement with marginal glazing bars. Ground floor has central projecting wooden doorcase with open pediment, semi-circular fanlight engaged Tuscan columns and panelled reveals. Narrow side lights. Ends have 1 window, 2 light casement with marginal glazing bars to right and 3 light casement with marginal glazing bars to left. Left gable has Gothick glazed window. (V.C.H.: 140).
