Former battery, now owned by National Trust as a museum. Built in 1893 to take 3 9.2-inch B.L. guns and altered and enlarged in 1900-02, 1911-14 and 1939-45. Comprizes a concrete redoubt curved gun emplacements with semi-underground magazines between (Anthony Cartwell MA and Peter Sprack: The Needles Defences: 16 - 17).
