NZ22NW CROWN STREET, South Church 634-1/5/145 (North side (off)) Group of C18 and C19 tombs approximately 3 metres south of Church of St Andrew

3 headstones, one chest tomb and one table tomb approx 3m S of W end of Church of St Andrew (qv). 1771-1853. Ashlar. (i) Headstone 0.5m S: approx 0.8m high, with central segment to shaped top. Inscription to Jane wife of Robert Wascoe d.1751 and Robert d.1771, saying that Wascoe family were clerks to the parish. (ii) Headstone 2m S of church: approx 0.9m high, with elaborate bracket-shaped top and tooled edges. To Thomas Dobson d.1778. (iii) Headstone approx 4m S of church: approx 1m high with bracket-shaped top. Inscription to Timothy Brown of Deanery, d.1799, his wife Dorothy d.1776, and other members of the family to 1936. (iv) Table tomb approx 5m S of church: moulded slab on square legs with base, capital and curved shaft. To Jane Gibson, d.1853, and other members of her family. (v) Chest tomb approx 5m S of church and adjacent to (iv) above: to James Baker d.1793 aged 10, and Robert Fell, joiner, his uncle d.1833. Moulded slab on panelled sides, the end panels with low relief cherub and inscription, the side panels with similar design and legend.
