Small town house. c.1840, altered. Red brick in Flemish bond, with sandstone dressings and slate roof. Single-depth double-fronted plan backing onto the east end of No.11 Cross Street (q.v.). Two-and-a-half storeys over cellar, a 4-window range (with 1-window return to Cross Street side, which has 1st-floor sill-band, plain frieze and moulded gutter cornice). The doorway, in the centre, is round-headed with a set-in doorcase of engaged Tuscan columns with abaci and cornice, and semicircular fanlight (with altered glazing). Three windows at ground floor, 4 at 1st floor, and one in the attic, all sashed without glazing bars (except those flanking the door a ground floor, which have altered glazing), all with raised sills and wedge lintels. Coped gable. The right-hand return (architecturally integrated with terrace including Nos.11 to 15 Cross Street) has one sashed window without glazing bars on each floor, and a small cellar opening. Rear and INTERIOR not inspected. Forms part of an almost complete set of late Georgian lower-middle class houses in this street.
