Wall running for approximately 116.5m to yard of Church of St. Matthew and James. Entrance to east end of wall to Rose Lane, drinking fountain half way between the 2 entrances and entrance to canted section of wall. c.1875. Probably Paley and Austin. Stone. Wall is coped with roll moulding to top. Entrances have 2 gate piers with weathered caps, flat gabled buttresses with tracery panels. One pier to side with gable. Paired wrought iron gates and single side gate have rich natural decoration. Lanterns to main gate piers. Fountain has weathered coping. Elliptical bowl has cusped nodding ogee canopy with crockets and heads, finial missing. Bronze fitting for fountain and medallion depicting Temple Bar, London. Base has segmental arch over elliptical dog bowl.
