Attached pair of houses. Dated 1840. Limestone ashlar, roof
not visible. Double-depth plan. Late Georgian style. Each of 3
storeys, basement and attic; 1-window range. Single-storey
entrance block set back to the right side, with pilasters to a
cornice and parapet, rectangular overlight and 2-leaf, 2-panel
doors; entrance to No.1 in the left return. Main block is
divided by a shallow vertical recess, each house has broad
pilasters forming a shallow recess below a cornice and
parapet, with a ground-floor cornice, and sill bands.
Tripartite ground-floor windows have 6/6-pane sashes flanked
by 2/2-pane sashes, 10/10-pane sashes above, with a cornice
and deep balconies to the first floor; large C20 dormer.
Pedimented name and date pad to the parapet. The left return
has pilasters and a central arched section containing the
doorway; blind ground floor and 10/10-pane sashes above.
