Mews, now dwellings over garages. 1875-9, altered C20. Builder J.Ockenden. Yellow stock bricks, moulded brick dressings, shallow pitch hipped slate roofs, overhanging boarded eaves, brick stacks with moulded caps surviving to No 1. U-plan range of mews fronting Second Avenue. One-and-a-half storeys: north-west range (No.1), central gable projecting forward slightly with segmental-headed window cutting ornate frieze to eaves cornice, window end bay left, moulded string with segmental-heads of blind arcade in outer bays, ground floor almost completely obscured by inserted garage showrooms with fascia of Hugh's of Hove. Narrow opening between the 2 ranges, no gatepiers. Similar range to south-west but with 2 windows either side of central gable, the segmental heads of ground floor arcade resting between them, ground floor completely obscured by C20 garage showrooms with fascia, Hugh's of Hove. Mews around stableyard with mixed fenestration, some original sash windows without glazing bars and early garage doors.
