CHITTLEHAMHOLT SS 62 SW

3/47 - Gates and gatepiers circa 10 metres north of Church of St John Baptist GV II Gates and gatepiers. Probably 1838 by R D Gould. Gates of wrought iron, gatepiers stone rubble with ashlar caps. Octagonal gatepiers with moulded ashlar caps which support a decorative wrought iron overthrow clasping central lantern. Gates of wrought iron with square section shafts, quatrefoil decoration to the middle and top rail, and anthemion cresting above to the headrail and ogee arches below.
