SX8751 RIDGE HILL 673-1/5/212 (North side) 23/10/72 Conduit approximately 4.5 metres to north of No.7 (Formerly Listed as: RIDGE HILL (North side) Conduit (opposite No.7 and at corner of College Way))

GV II

Water conduit. Dated 1519 on recut stone, rebuilt in the C19; it was apparently dated 1840 according to the previous list description. Local stone rubble with sandstone dressings. Roughly square in plan with battered walls tapering to embattled parapet (`renovated' with concrete in the 1980s). North side is particularly tall since it is built up from the lower level of College Way. South side contains a blocked niche for the tap. East side has a plaque carved with the civic seal and the date 1519 (it was recut in the 1980s).
