GV II
House with garden walls, piers and railings. Early C19 possibly incorporating earlier fabric. Coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings; some detail obscured by ivy. Low-pitched hipped roof of graduated stone slates with stone ridge; stone chimney. 2 storeys; 3-window range. Door at left has 6 panels, the top pair glazed quadrants, in round-headed projecting surround with pilasters and possibly with keystone. Plain stone surrounds to plain sashes. INTERIOR: internal shutters to some windows; renewed dogleg staircase with slender handrail on reeded stick balusters. Truncated stair window, with an opening light, enclosed within house. 2-panel door and c1800 cast-iron grates in rear rooms. Garden walls on east side of house approx 2m high have flat stone coping along long north wall and part of east wall; central part of east wall, facing Demesnes, lowered and filled by wrought-iron railings with spike heads. Boarded doors on east side in plain stone surround to left of railings and on north side beside house.
