Farmhouse and barn. Early C17 with C19 alterations. Mixed sandstone rubble walls, under graduated greenslate roof with right coped gable; brick and sandstone chimney stacks. 2 storeys, 2 bays with left 2-bay barn under common roof. House has off-centre C20 door in C19 stone surround. C20 ground-floor windows in original C17 surrounds under hoodmoulds,with mullions removed. 2 upper-floor C19 double sash windows; the original 2-light stone-mullioned windows and smaller firewindow are blocked. Barn has always been partly domestic, with a similar blocked 2-light window and C20 window in C19 surround. Rear has chamfered-surround doorways and blocked 2-light windows, with other C20 windows in C19 and C20 surrounds. Gable wall of barn is open on ground-floor under a C20 window. Internal lintel stone at foot of stairs is inscribed and dated M & WS 1611. Further barn extensions are not of interest.
