Farmhouse. Late C18. Painted stucco walls with string course, eaves cornice
and V-jointed quoins, on chamfered plinth. Graduated greenslate roof with coped
gables and kneelers; banded sandstone chimney stacks. 2 storeys, 2 bays with
lower flanking lean-to wings, that to right extending at rear. House has sash
windows with glazing bars intersecting in round heads, those on right
Venetian windows, all in stone surrounds. Wings have C20 doors in
alternate-block surrounds with keyed lintels, the left door under sash window
and the right one under smaller casement window. Right return wall has large
C20 door in segmental arch of alternate blocks and C20 casement windows in C19
stone surrounds. Interior of exceptional quality. Oak panelled doors and
architraves throughout; oak turned stair balusters. Principal room has stone
heck post, and panelled fire beam with cupboards built into inner face; good
spice and salt cupboards. Corner dresser and delft rack with moulded cornice,
all built in. Staircase squint to kitchen, curved slopstone in former dairy.
Panelled window shutters on ground-floor.
