House, dated 1660, now 2 dwellings. Brick,pebbledashed, with some timber- framing, some stone quoins now rendered, stone slate roofs. L-shaped plan: main range of 3 bays, the first bay extended forwards-as a 2-bay crosswing. Two storeys, the crosswing slightly lower, with modern single-storey extensions to the rear; one ridge chimney stack to each range. Two-storey porch with mono-pitch roof in re-entrant, a datestone above it bearing the arms of the Charnock family and lettered:

IHS A MR R C 16 60

Two concrete mullioned windows at ground floor, of 4 lights and 3 lights, the latter flanked by ground floor buttresses; 2 windows on 1st floor, respectively oblong of 4 lights with new wooden mullions and square with new wooden mullions and transom; all windows have eared surrounds. Re-entrant wall where not covered by porch has elements of timber framing. Gable of wing has one tall C19 casement window on each floor. Left return wall has 2 eaves-level windows, one still with stone mullions and 2 ground floor windows. Roof of main range is hipped at left end. Interior: house- part in centre bay has inglenook bressummer and two ovolo-moulded bridging beams.
