SD 52SW LEYLAND CHURCH ROAD
8/25 Eagle and Child Inn 4.8.1978 GV II Inn, probably C18 with C19 alterations. Brick pebbledashed, stone plinth and quoins, stone slate roofs on 3 different levels. Rectangular plan of 4 bays with extension at left end set back. Gable end and 2 ridge chimney stacks. 2 storeys in 3 different heights: extension to left is lower and bay at right end is higher than central range, which has doors to 1st and 3rd bays with stone jambs and entablatures, 5 rectangular ground floor windows of different sizes, all in moulded architraves with keystones, with casements. 1st floor windows have similar frames, one in the higher right bay being tall and sashed, 3 in central range rectangular casements (the middle of 3 lights, others of 2 lights); that in 1st bay is circular, and one in left extension has plain eared stone frame. Interior with square beams much altered.
