KIMBOLTON HIGH STREET TL 095675 (SOUTH-WEST SIDE) 6/37 NO. 19 (LA COTE 24.10.51 D'OR RESTAURANT) GV II*

Circa 1300. Early mediaeval town house. Timber-frame of three bays, originally jettied, at right angles to the street with a side passage entry to the hall. Brick stack inserted in C17 and roof raised. One roof truss remains, and original rafters have been reused. Timber-framed additions to south-west possibly C16. Street facade early C19, two storeys, rendered timber- frame and plain tiled roof. Large barrel shop window with glazing bars and half-glazed shop door to left hand. Plank side passage door to south-east. Interior has exposed timber-framed walls and trusses. Two stop-splayed scarf joints with under- squinted butts and face pegs in original wall plates.
