BEAMINSTER THE SQUARE ST 4701/4801 (NORTH SIDE) 12.6.53 7/163 No 12, and attached house (at left hand) GV II

Attached corner Newsagent, former house. Dated 1687. Date stone in dormer gable: "This house burnt in 1684 House rebuilt in 1687 W.L." Coursed stone walls. Asbestos tile roof with stone gable-coping. One shared stack at left hand. 2 storeys and attics. West elevation: 2 windows. Ground floor with canted bay window with wooden columnar framing and large glass panels, C20. Corner has 2 shop windows with an integral door across corner, with fanlight over. Window framing has fine reeding and a plain cornice. Door has mariginal glazing-bars. First floor: 2 4-light stone mullions with hollow chamfers. Fixed lead lights to 3 out of 4 & one opening iron casement. Separate labels over. Half- dormer with 3-light stone mullion and separate label over. South gable- end has one 3-light mullion with separate label over. Attached house at left hand, roughcast stone walls with a stone plinth. Roman tile roof with one stone gable-coping. One brick stack at right hand gable. 2 storeys. 2 windows, wooden horizontally-pivoting casements with glazing-bars. Wooden cills. No door to street.
