House. Later C17, '1663' carved next to a blocked gable window in E bedroom is probably the date of building. 2 storeys, timberframed, plastered, facing S, with a steep pitched old red tile roof, half-hipped on W: E end probably altered. Symmetrical 2 room, central lobby-entry plan with central chimney set back to fit former stair next to front door. Red brick C18 external gable chimney on W. Ground floor E room originally the only heated room. Later 2 storeys rear extension contains staircase, kitchen, etc. 3 window, symmetrical S front with 3- light C19 wooden casements with small panes. 2-light window over central plank door with bullion-light cut in. Timbers extensively exposed inside. Square joists and chamfered stopped axial beams in both Ground floor rooms with bold scrolled brackets supporting beam-ends at gable walls, and distinctive bar-and-lozenge stops (cf Westfield to N and Lower Farm, Bury Green). Central tie beams spans 1st floor but not connected to 3 bay, A-frame, butt purlin roof structure with 2 purlins in each slope. Close-studded walls on all sides. Blocked windows on 1st floor E and W.
