DIPTFORD SX75NE Range of outbuildings 5/208 immediately NNW of Crabadon Court
GV II
Cartshed with adjoining outbuilding used as garage, and pigsty range. The cartshed is circa C18. Slate rubble with gable-ended roof of very large rag slates. Rectangular on plan with open front of 3 bays with 2 wooden posts joined at top to form fork clasping the arcade plate. The roof has principal rafters crossed at the apex. Set back to the left a larger circa C17 outbuilding. Slate rubble with a corrugated iron gable-ended roof. Rectangular single cell plan with a small central doorway at the front and a first floor doorway at the left hand and which is built into the back. The right hand end has a later opening for a cart entrance. The front doorway is round arched with chamfered slate voussoirs and jambs and has an old plank door with strap hinges. Inside the back wall has blocked recesses, the first floor has been removed and the roof structure replaced in late C19 or C20. In the angle between the 2 buildings on C18 or early C19 single storey lean-to pigsty range with 2 plank doors on the front and a corrugated iron roof. Interior not inspected.
