KIMBOLTON STATION ROAD TL 06 NE 3/1 WORNDITCH HALL II C18 L-plan farmhouse with early C19 ranges to rear and garden. C18 house of local brick with tiled, mansard roof. Two storeys and attics. One hung sash with glazing bars and open boxing to west gable end. C19 garden range of gault brick. Hipped, slate roof of shallow pitch with deep overhang at eaves. Two storeys. Cambered arches to range of four recessed hung sashes with vertical glazing bars. Four full length casements at ground floor. Mid C19 verandah with glazed lean-to roof. Slender cast-iron columns with Ionic capitals, frieze of geometric pattern and acanthus leaf scrolls to spandrels. Main entry in east front. Doorway with pilasters, plain entablature and moulded cornice. Two side lights flank panelled door and rectangular fanlight. C19 rear range. Brick, plaster rendered. Range of three recessed hung sashes with glazing bars. Interior. Rear range of C18 house has reused C17 chamfered main beam to one ground floor room. C19 back staircase. Open string with square section balusters. C19 fanlights with glazing bars to openings between service and principal wings. C19 panelled doors. VCH (Hunts) Vol. III, p76.
