Neo-Gothic country cottage built in 1815 for Captain Welstead, R.N. One storey and attic with two gabled wings. Painted brick low pitched, hipped, thatched roof to main range with north east gabled roofs plain tiled. Three symmetrical stacks with four, and two, diagonal shafts of local brick. Symmetrical garden facade. Central two storey projecting gabled wing with shaped bargeboard and finial; first floor diamond lattice, two-light, casement window with moulded label; tented roof to small bay window. Two round headed former windows to main range, two French windows with round headed arches and glazing bars in open verandah to right hand, and closed verandah to left hand. Rustic open porch to north-east main entrance.
