Details
CASTLEFORD FRONT STREET SE42SW (north side), Glass Houghton 4/2 Public urinal to east - of Post Office. - II Public urinal. Probably late C19 or early C20. Macfarlane's Patent, made by Saracen Foundry, Glasgow (lettering on west end). Cast iron, with ceramic furnishings. Rectangular, with curved rear corners. Open topped structure of decorated plates arranged in vertical panels in a slender tubular frame; with open entrances at each end, 4 panels between these and returned ends making internal screens. Each panel is decorated with raised and pierced geometrical patterns, except the top, which is a 2-tiered grill. Interior: 4 stalls (apparently original).
