2/11 Buildings and walls enclosing Stable Courtyard at Biddlesden Park House

Stable courtyard of 2 builds. Chequer brick with slate roof. N. side has central arch flanked by 2 semi-circular headed openings with moulded stone architraves and keyblocks, 2 to right over stable doors; one similar opening in each return. Courtyard carried round: S. side has 5 arches and 2 to each return. Round rendered brick piers. Central bay rendered with quoins and rusticated square piers. Blind arcade to rear wall. Screen wall to S. of ashlar and coursed rubble stone with band course and quoins to angles and upper stage of centre bay. 5 bays. Centre bay has re-fitted pediment with pine cone and round window, door below in architrave surround with keyblock, pulvinated frieze and pediment. 2 bricked-in arches to each side. Rubble stone cross wall to forecourt with entrance arch.
