Details
1. TANGIER LANE (off) 5130 (north end)
SU 9677 NE 1/101 Pump Houses to north of Tangier Mill House II
2. Circa 1870, for former Windsor and Eton Waterworks. Red brick, Welsh slate roof with stone coped pedimented gable ends. One storey, three by five bays, defined by pilasters and entablature with cogged brick decoration. Round arched doorways central in ends; blank round arches central in sides. Round plaques with insignia in pediments. Two Fourneyrow outward-flow turbines, built in 1873 by Stothert and Pitt of Bath, to a design of Wm. Henry Cutler. They drive 9 in double-acting pumps and each develop 42 hp. Thought to be a unique installation.
