GV II

Police station and courthouse. Police station dated 1884 on datestone in left gable, courthouse c1830. Brick with stone dressings and slate roofs with 3 gable and 2 ridge stacks. Police station, to right, has chamfered plinth and cogged eaves. 2 storeys; 4 window range of margin light sashes with keystoned lintels. Double range plan. To left, a projecting 2 storey porch with coped gable and corner pilasters, and a single window. Below, 2-leaf moulded panelled doors with segmental overlight. To right, 2 windows and beyond, a carriage opening with wooden gatepiers and no gates. Courthouse, to left, has coped gables. 2 storeys; 3 window range of glazing bar sashes with keystoned lintels. Double range plan. Off-centre moulded panelled door with fanlight, flanked to left by a single window and to right by 2 windows.
