Details
HAGLEY ROAD 1. 5104 (north side) Edgbaston B16 No 215 SP 0488 SE 36/26 II GV 2. C1800 altered. Red brick; slate roof. Three storeys, the top one a later addition; 4 bays, that on the right a later addition as also probably are the quoins left and right. Ground floor with a window, a heavy late C19 red brick porch with stucco dressings, round headed arch and panelled walls, and 2 more windows. First floor with stucco sill band and 4 windows. Second floor with stucco sill band and 4 almost square windows. All windows sashes with glazing bars and all except those of second floor and one on the first floor with rusticated voussoirs. The left hand return on Stirling Road stuccoed and with the original front entrance doorcase with Tuscan columns carrying an open dentilled pediment raised up high and used as a window frame. The original house may have balanced another to the east since demolished, to provide a formal approach to the large house now the centre piece of St Chad's Hospital.
