GV II

House and railings to front. Possibly C17 origins, partly altered in the late C18 when the front and rear elevations were remodelled and a third storey added. Stuccoed and rendered front and rear elevations. Slate roof with gable ends. Rendered end stacks. Plan: 2-room and through passage plan, heated by end stacks. The internal partitions have been removed. Both front and rear elevations were remodelled in the circa late C18 or early C19 and it is possible that a third storey was added at this time. Exterior: Elevation to Cross Street is of 3 storeys with a symmetrical 3-window front. Rusticated ground floor and rusticated quoins to first and second floors. Fine circa late C18 doorcase with fluted pilasters and carved entablature. 2 circa late C18 or early C19 12-pane sashes to right and left with 2 on first floor flanking central blind window. Three 3-over-6 pane sashes to second floor. Rear garden elevation has a symmetrical 3-window, 3 storey elevation probably remodelled in the early C19 with a rusticated ground floor and rusticated quoins. Early C19 porch and complete sashes. Interior: Internal partitions removed. Stair against rear wall of left hand room, circa mid to late C19, possibly reset. Upper floors not inspected. Circa C18 iron railing to front of Cross Street elevation.
