TQ 3080 NE CITY OF WESTMINSTER EXETER STREET, WC2 74/28 No 16 The Old Bell 15.1.73 Public House G.V. II Public house. 1835 as part of the Wellington Street development. Painted brick with stucco dressings, slate roof. 3 storeys and dormered mansard. 5 windows wide, 1-window curved corner and one window wide return to Wellington Street. Ground floor has wooden public house front with corner entrance and windows articulated by pilasters and console brackets carrying modified entablature. Upper floors (some with blind windows) have glazing bar sashes in stucco architraves, those on 1st floor with cornices; Wellington Street return with one tripartite window to each floor. Bracketed cornice and stucco parapet. Survey of London; Vol XXXVI.
