PORTMELLON 1. 1584A Penwarne Manor including outbuilding adjoining on south east SX 04 SW 13/447 28.11.50.

II GV

2. From C16, partly C17. Painted stone rubble. 2 storeys. Long building of some 10 windows. The front is quite plain, with blocked windows and three tall sashes, 2 twin adjoining sashes with thick glazing bars. Hipped roof porch at centre with round arched doorway, label over, glazed door. Long slate roof with gabled ends. Wing at rear with blocked ogee arch window which is said to be from the ruins of the house (north east of Pentewan) of one John Polrudden, who was absconded by the French in C17 from when his house fell into ruins. Interior, panelled screen. Including rubble outbuilding adjoining on the south east, slate roof with hipped end, exterior steps up to loft door.

Penwarne Manor, the wall and gate piers, stables and barn form a group.
