GV II*
Stables, now partly converted to garage and store. Probably C18, partly remodelled in early C19 for Rev. Charles Prideaux-Brune. Stone rubble. Slate roof with hipped ends. Plan: Overall rectangular plan with carriage-house , now a garage on the left, tack room, 5 loose boxes and now a store to right. The first floor (now only partly floored) was probably accommodation for stable hand and hay loft. Gothick style. Exterior: 2 storeys with a 1:3:5 window front, the ground floor openings arranged asymmetrically. To left a mullion and transom window with 3 tall 4-centred arched openings divided by stepped buttresses, originally for the coach house, now a garage. To right are 3 mullion and transom windows with two 4-centred arch doorway opening between. First floor has eight quatrefoil openings. 2 storey rear elevation, the ends recessed under continuous eaves and with 4-centred arches to windows on first floor. Interior: Central range contains a tack room with timber boarded partition and 5 Batty Langley-like Gothick loose boxes with 4-centred arched openings. Heraldic plasterwork to lobby directly in front of the loose boxes. There is at least one reused circa C17 door.
